Our Featured Horse of the Month is Bobbi!
We are featuring Bobbi this month as a way to thank him for his service and wish him luck in his retirement.
Bobbi is closing in on 20 years old, and has spent most of those years as a school horse, though only six at Lancers. Bobbi has done it all while at Lancers from beginner summer camps, to Musical Ride, to Pony Club Rally, and horse shows. Bobbi was never an easy ride, but it was so rewarding when things clicked. He has many first place ribbons with his name on them.
Almost everyone who rode Bobbi for their first time described his trot as feeling like a washing machine, but you would never know it to watch him trotting in a flat class. Bobbi also taught so many riders the inevitable lessons that come from falling off a horse and the growth that comes with getting back up again.
Bobbi was lucky enough to be chosen as Chloe Cook’s favorite horse when she was a junior rider at Lancers. Chloe was and still is a dedicated Lancer, and was so devoted to Boobi it was hard to think of one of them without the other. Chloe moved on to university but made sure to put her name in to adopt Bobbi when he was ready for retirement. Now that he is ready, we could not imagine someone better to be Bobbi’s own person. Bobbi is headed to the Annapolis Valley where Chloe will continue to ride him while she finishes school. When he’s ready to slow down even more, he will spend the remainder of his days on her grandparents’ farm.
We will always be grateful to Bobbi for being such a wonderful teacher and friend to so many riders over the years. We wish him and Chloe all the best!
