Our featured junior rider of the month is Ella Furey!

Ella joined the Lancer community in September 2023 after being on the waitlist for a number of years. After finally getting in, she quickly found a welcoming and supportive environment that has helped her grow as a rider and a person.

“My favorite parts about Lancers are the amazing people and the welcoming community. I love walking into the barn and being greeted by friendly, supportive faces. The program and the horses have helped me get to where I am today. Lancers has taught me the importance of hard work and partnership.”

Ella’s favorite horse is Oliver, who she describes as having a gentle, funny personality and the ability to give his rider confidence both in and out of the saddle.

One of Ella’s most cherished memories from Lancers is the week she spent at Salmon River camp. She recalls feeling immediately included and making lasting friendships. “I enjoyed the trail rides, caring for the horses, and spending time with friends. I hope to go back next year!”

Ella quickly jumped into all Lancer activities from Musical Ride to working as a casual stable hand! Ella doesn’t back down from a challenge, she enjoys learning and always takes away something from any lesson big or small. We’re so proud to have Ella as part of our Lancers family!
