Our Featured Rider for January is Michele Chappell

Michele has been a Lancer twice – first in 1984 when she taught at Lancers before attending nursing school and more recently, in 2020, when she rejoined as an adult member in our Tuesday evening A1 ride. For Michele, horses are therapy for the mind, soul, and body. She added, “they challenge you to be your best, are forgiving of your shortcomings, enjoy your company (and treats), and the harmony created is awe inspiring.” Not only does riding at Lancers give Michele the opportunity to continue to experience the benefits of horses but she shared with us that her past employment at Lancers as a riding instructor when she was 19 helped her realized her love of teaching.

Upon returning to Lancers she jumped right in and volunteered as the photographer for our Halloween Fun Show! We are so pleased to have Michele back and we love how much she respects and appreciates the horses. Here is a photo of Michele and Mato!
