Our Featured Junior Rider of the month is Catie Beed!

“My favourite Lancer memory is my first ever lesson there. I immediately felt at home and I was surrounded by people who welcomed me in and have since felt like family to me. I rode Ben that day, he has always had a special place in my heart since that day.”

Catie has been riding since she was seven years old and joined Lancers when she was ten. Catie has been leasing Eddie for two years now, she enjoys working with him, and they have both learned a lot from each other. They are a great pair and have been very successful in the jumper ring! Catie is now in grade twelve and in her last year as a junior at Lancers. This year she is working as a barn monitor, and is also in the Musical Ride. Catie is always so friendly when she comes to the barn and many of our young riders look up to her. She is an excellent student who is always trying to learn more despite her successes. She brings a lot of passion to the sport and adores the horses that she rides. She is a team player who also wants to see everyone succeed.

“Lancers has taught me to take in the little things, focus on where you are now and not worry about the future, and also that change can be a good thing.”

We are so glad that Catie has spent her childhood at Lancers, contributing to our community, it has been a pleasure to watch her grow into a hard-working, caring and considerate horse person.
