Our Featured Junior Rider of the Month is Maya Hocquard!

Maya has been riding at Lancers since 2017, she has always loved horses and has ridden at a couple different barn since she was 4 years old. Over the last 7 years Maya has built many great friendships with both horses and riders. In particular maya has formed a strong bond with Fawkes. “He has these quirks I have never seen in a horse before. I also say he is my favorite horse because he is the only one that I have had a really trusting bond with and when I ride him I always know he is going to take care of me, and I think he knows I will take care of him no matter what. I have never trusted a horse so much in my life I always say, I trust him with my life” Maya spends so much of her time at the barn and wants to learn all there is to know about horses. On weekends Maya works as a casual stable hand, she is also a part of our Musical Ride and will often take part in all extra currciuclars such as horse shows. Maya says the barn really feels like a second home to her, the environment of the barn makes her so happy being her good friends and horses. As an older rider at the barn Maya is oiften in a leadership role especially to the younger riders, Maya does a great job leading and teaching them and all fo the kids love having her around. This year Maya will be moving on to a start a new lease with Ava Jane.
