Our featured Adult Rider of the Month is Emma Mann!

Emma began riding in Lancers’ Therapeutic Program in the fall of 2023. Emma has always loved horses and appreciates her time spent with the Horses of Halifax. Before riding at Lancers, Emma had gone on some trail rides, including riding at the Bay of Fundy. “I have always dreamt of having a horse, so having the chance to be part of Lancers has given that dream to me. It has inspired one to be more confident! Sometimes I don’t always feel that great, but it helps me forget about illness when I am around the horses.”

Emma brings a calming presence to the barn. She is game for any challenge in her lessons and is eager to learn from all of the horses, especially Fawkes. On Christmas day Emma and her mom came to help feed the horses.They loved being able to come help out and are looking forward to more volunteer opportunities in the future! Emma is incredibly resilient and has overcome many obstacles to get to where she is today. Emma is a delight to have in the program, and it is evident how much she appreciates the power that horses have to help us all.
