Our Featured Junior Rider of the Month is Grayson Neumann!

Grayson started riding at Lancers in the fall of 2015. After riding a horse for the first time in the summer Grayson fell in love with horses and wanted to continue with the sport.

Grayson and his family were initially attracted to Lancers because of the close proximity to their house. His reasons for choosing Lancers have grown into so much more. “I really love the community Lancers has and what they mean to me now. I say community but I really mean family: Lancers is like my home away from home and the people and horses there are my second family. I never have a dull moment or feel down when I’m at the barn, and if I go there feeling that way, I leave feeling a million times better.”

Over the years, Grayson has had some great partnerships with different horses. Right now Cory is Grayson’s favorite horse, “he’s like a big friendly giant. He embodies how horses are powerful but kind, and he’s so silly! I hope to have a horse of my own one day and I hope he or she turns out like Cory!”

It's hard to put into words just how great it is to have Grayson as a Lancer. Now that he goes to school at Citadel across the street he is often the first person here when school gets out. His enthusiasm is contagious and we are delighted to have him as a staff member as well this year, helping build better lives amongst our younger Lancers as a barn monitor.

“Lancers has definitely improved me as a person. I’m proud of the values I’ve gained while being here and my confidence has gone through the roof. Lancers makes me feel like I’m a normal kid and I feel like I fit in with the world how I’m supposed to now!”
