Our Featured Rider for October is CC Stender

CC has been riding at Lancers for 5 years. She has always always loved horses and walked out of the barn after her first day and told her mom, “that was the best thing ever”. She still feels that way about riding today! She is now in Ride 2.

CC does more than just ride at Lancers. This is her second year working as a weekend/casual stablehand at Lancers, and she has just started to get into volunteering with the Therapeutic Riding program. CC and her mum, Sue, also like to help out with shaving deliveries whenever they can!

CC's favourite horse is Sadie, and she's really grateful to have the chance to lease her this year. According to CC, "Sadie is super sweet, and I end up smiling after every ride with her — even when she gets a little too speedy during the ride!" CC added "I also can’t talk about favourite horses without mentioning Chevy and Bud! They were two of the first horses that I really loved at Lancers".

We have loved watching CC grow into a caring, responsible horse person over the years. She works with a great deal of empathy for the horses and never stops trying to be her best for them.
