Our Featured Junior Rider of the Month is Marguerite (Margi) Dunkley!

Margi has spent 10 wonderful years as a junior rider at Lancers

Margi is a quiet, calm and gentle soul, and also has the drive and passion, making her an effective and respected team leader. Growing up, Margi would watch the Saddle Club, Black Beauty, and any horse related shows or movies she could find. She told her mom at a young age that she wanted to ride! Many years later, that love of horses has certainly not faded and only become stronger.

Margi has taken part in all aspects of Lancer life as a Junior. She was a leader in the Musical Ride, participates in all Training Shows, Lancer Days, Clinics, has been a leader at our Salmon River camp, and participated at off property horse shows. One of Margi’s favourite memories at Lancers was “being at a horse show in the pouring rain, getting to spend time with other Lancers as well as the horses just having fun even though the weather was not the best.”

Margi has worked with some of our younger horses. Currently her favourite horse is Fawkes because of his silly personality and she also said that he has helped her build more confidence!

We are grateful to have Margi as such a great team player, and role model to those around her. We are looking forward to many more years of having her in our Lancer community.
