Our Feature Junior Rider of the Month is Stirling Gunn

Our Featured Junior Rider is Stirling Gunn

Stirling is a wonderful presence in the barn with a great sense of humour and an old soul. She is a friend to all - both horse and human.

Stirling first came to Lancers for March Break Camp in 2018 and had grown up watching the Musical Ride but it wasn't until September 2020 when she joined Lancers when a space opened in our junior membership.

Stirling jumped right into Lancer life and in two years has participated in fundraisers, Lancer Days, training shows, clinics, our 85th anniversary memorial service for our founder, and this year, is a groom in the Musical Ride. She spends 3-4 days a week at the barn!

The best part about Lancers for Stirling is all the people and the whole environment. Comache is her favourite horse because "he's a good pony". Comache, the Horses of Halifax, and Lancers play a vital role in Stirling's life, helping her mental health and bringing her comfort.

At age 12, Stirling already sets a good example for those around her and is already on her way to being a leader. She's excited to one day become a stablehand, barn monitor, and maybe an instructor!

Watch this space because you can be sure to see more of Stirling in the coming years!
