Our featured horse of the month for June is Merlin!

Merlin is a big horse with an even bigger personality! He has incredible presence like a horse a knight would ride into battle with. Merlin never fails to impress people- both through his most excellent performance most of the time, and through his ability to “get his riders’ number” with some spectacular airs above the ground the other part of the time. Because of this Merlin is generally ridden by our more experienced riders, but he does make occasional appearances in the more novice rides, and tends to be on his best behaviour when he does.

At 18 years old, he shows no signs of slowing down. Merlin is this year’s Musical Ride lead horse, and you can be sure to catch him in the jumper ring at equestrian shows around the province.

Merlin is a complete gentleman on the ground, and is a key player in our Equine Supported Wellness programs. He is equally wonderful with all the other horses, and can be sure to get along with almost any horse he gets turned out with.
