Our Featured Horse for April is Vanna

One could say that Vanna is like a piece of carbon - not just because of her grey colour but because she has turned into an absolute diamond!

When she arrived at Lancers, she had only one month of training plus a few rides under her belt and was predictably green. Due to her age of 9, we felt comfortable moving her along in her training faster than we might with a younger horse. She caught not everything with remarkable ease and has proven herself and exceeded our expectations at every step along the way.

She arrived at Lancers in September 2020 and the following year, she made her debut in the show ring and in the Musical Ride, excelling at both. She even was Baby Green champion at the Coveside Spring Festival and finished with top placings in all of her other shows.

Now 11-years-old, Vanna is a barn favourite and is ridden by our intermediate and advanced riders in the junior and adult programs. She is not quite ready for beginner rider due to her athleticism but we have no doubt she will end up with our beginner riders in the future due to her good nature! She is incredibly sweet and is always happy to make new friends! We are so thankful to have her as one of the #HorsesOfHalifax! Shine bright light a diamond, Vanna!
