Our Featured Junior Rider of the Month is Chloe Coles!

This will be Chloe's final year as a junior at Lancers as she will be graduating high school. Horses have played a big role in Chloe's life since starting at Lancers; it was her first intro to horsemanship rather than just riding, she says that the time she spends with the horses has helped her with her anxiety, in particular, Fawkes because of his calm but also goofy nature in his stall. Chloe has enjoyed taking part in Lancer Days, training shows, and the Downtown Horse Show “I feel that the Lancer shows have been an essential part of my development as a rider while being in a safe and familiar environment. I am also an avid costume contest participant and am known to have dressed Bella as a UFO, and Ava Jane as an Amazon delivery van.” Chloe works very hard in all of her lessons and extracurriculars she participates in, her love for Fawkes is clear and they have formed a great partnership.

Chloe and her parents have been heavily involved with volunteering opportunities at Lancers. “During the August cleanup, my parents and I have taken on tasks such as installing new flooring and painting various spaces in the barn.” Any time something needs fixing at the barn, Chloe is very eager to help and has many skills to do so. Outside of the barn, Chloe works hard each year to help with fundraising efforts, Chloe and her grandmother have been collecting refundables for a few years, and each year she puts her earnings towards our No Stirrups November Campaign. In addition, Chloe has started selling her handmade holiday gifts such as wreaths and candles - her goal this year is to raise $500!! “I have made a lot of valuable memories with both my parents and fellow Lancers during these weeks, and I have come to appreciate volunteer work as a joyful and rewarding experience.”

Chloe Plans to attend university outside of the province after graduating this year which means she will not be continuing at Lancers, however; she plans to visit when she's home and take on any volunteer opportunities she can. Chloe would like to continue riding later in life and hopefully at Lancers again “Once a Lancer, Always a Lancer”.
